Abstract :
The region of study is located in south –west of Mashhad. The volcanic rocks of Granitoiid and regional metamorphicm rocks outcrop in this part. Metamorphic rocks which can be observed in this area are: Slate, Philite, Mica Schist, Garnet Schist, Staurolite Schist, Chloritoiid Schist, quartzite, Marble and Meta volcanic. In this research the metamorphic unite has been investigated through satellite image processing. In order to distinguish between Staurolite Schist and Chloritoiid Schist from Garnet Schist the PCA and Band Ratio techniques have been employed. To display the petrology of region the False Color Composite has been utilized. More over, to enhance the resolution of images the researcher used thermal band.
Subject List : Metamorphism
