Abstract :
The Sorkh-kuh granite in north of Lut plain is located in 70 km south-west of Khosf town (Birjand province). The oldest exposed rocks in the area related to Permian-Triassic limestone which is contact of granite rocks have been crystalline state and in form of linear type formed in northwest to southeast direction and thrusted on the schist and phylite Jurassic rocks. At least, two types of granites realized in the area, that earliest granite (Gl) with leucocrut characteristic and consist of quartz, plagioclase (albite) mineral assemblage and formed due to metasomatism process with interaction to high temperature silisiferous fluids and carbonate country rocks and have a low grade Fe and related elements, therefore dont have a mineralization power and barren. Latest granite (G2) with a granodiorite characteristic and younger than earliest granite and comprises of plagioclase, biotite, hornblend, K-feldspar, apatite, magnetite and zircon mineral assemblage and have a S type characteristic with Cu, Fe, Sn, W polymetallic mineraliation. Mineralization accured at least, two forms of andoskarn and exoskarn types, that the exoskarn is a main part of Cu-Fe mineralization and have a magnetite, chalcopyrite, digenite, azurite, wollastonite, garnet, diopside and amphibols mineral assemblage. Geochemical analyses indicate the positive correlation coeficence between Cu-W-Sn (0.78), Cu-Au-Fe (0.66) and As-Ag-Sb (0.55) in the area.
