Abstract :
Tin bearing quartz-tourmaline veins cut both Shah-Kuh granitic massif and the sedimentry rocks of  Shemshak  Formation in the eastern part of the Lut Block (Eastern Iran).
The gangue minerals are mainly quartz and tourmaline and sphen, zircon, apatite and phengite are minor. The hypogen ore consist of cassiterite, hydrostannite,  pyrite, chalcopyrite and probably warlomophite. The supergen minerals include goethite, lepidocrocite, digenite, covellin and malachite. Sn content ranges from 5 ppm to 1945 ppm with average of 121.5 ppm. So, the vein-type mineralization of Shah-Kuh, with such low Sn-concentrations can not be considered as an economic tin deposit. In contrrast with our first expectation, tin has not originated from the Shah- Kuh granitic massif but it could be originated from the sedimentry rocks of Shemshak as a results of hydrothermal circulation.
