Abstract :
The Kopet Dagh basin is located at northeast of Iran and south of Turan plate. One of the stratigraphical units of Kopet Dagh basin is Abderaz Formation. This Formation has studied in two sections at Ghaleh Zu (Northwest Shirvan) and Zangulanlu (South Daregaz). In the both of sections, lower boundary of Abderaz Formation with Aitamir Formation is Paraconformable .The upper boundary of Abderaz Formation with Abtalkh Formaion is conformable and transitional. Thickness of Abderaz formation is 204 meters at Ghaleh Zu section and 755 meters in Zangulanlu section. According to correlation of stratigraphical columns,This difference of thickness is due to depositional conditions, Subsidance or action of faults. In the both of sections, On the base of Micropaleontological studies, 4 biozones identified. Based on this biozones, Turonian- Santonian age suggested for Abderaz Formation.
