Abstract :
Taknar zone is an exotic block, located between Doruneh fault in south and Taknar-Rivash fault in north.
Taknar Formation is the main unite of this zone. It consists of slate, chlorite schist, sericite schist, and meta-volcanic rocks. Taknar Formation formed during Silurian time. Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Tertiary intrusive rocks are exposed within Taknar zone. Paleozoic dolomite-limestone unit with more than 10 Km long has exposured to the south. Active magmatism, favorable host rocks and structures all are good conditions for epithermal gold mineralization. Twenty three rock chip samples were taken from jasperoid-hematite-calcite within the dolomite-limestone. Maximum gold is 5.4 ppb. Zn=77, Pb=7.38 ppm, Cu= 46
and Ag= 66 ppb.
Takanr Cu-Au-Zn-Pb massive sulfide is a syngenetic deposit and formed within specific horizon of Taknar formation. Taknar zone with an exposure of more than 30Km has great potential for this type of deposit. Exploring for Cu-Au-Zn-Pb massive sulfide deposit within the western part of Taknar zone, 23 stream sediment sample were taken from an area of 25 Km2. Sample No 2, 4, 6, 7, 0, 11, 12, 14 and 22 show gold anomaly. Sample Tak-12 has Au= 422 ppb. Based on this survey western zone has potential exploring for massive sulfide deposit.
