Abstract :
A mineralization zone in Tajghani in Gazik area is engulfed within serpentinites in Sistan suture zone in this mineralization zone overlie by Paleocene-Eocene andesite lavas. The major ore mineral east of Iran.
in this zone is Cr- picotite that Cr has been partially replaced by Fe. The ore body in Tajghani has lenticular and podiform structures and cataclastic and mylonitic textures developed as the result of tectonic deformation and faulting processes. Microprobe analisis reveal that spinel has low Al2O3 (14.76-17.44%) and high Cr2O3 (54.38-56.17%) content in Tajghani. Therfore, the ore body in Tajghani is a high- Cr and low- Al type chromitite.
