Abstract :
Taknar formation consists of a complex of acidic-intermediate volcanic rocks, sub volcanic bodies and sedimentary rocks. This complex is affected by regional metamorphism and at certain parts by alteration and contact metamorphism. Three distinct groups of region rocks are as follows:
1. Taknar formation (Ordovician).?? 2. Intrusive bodies of middle to late Paleozoic.????? 3. Post-Paleozoic intrusive bodies.
In the northern part of Taknar several lithologic units found as follows: volcanic rocks and pyroclastics(tuff), medium to coarse grained sericite schists, chlorite sericite schists, chlorite schists, intrusive bodies, basic meta-sub volcanics in the range of meta-gabbro-diorite to meta-diabase, acidic-intermediate volcanic rocks such as meta-ryolite and meta-quartz porphyry, sedimentary rocks such as chart and arkoses and metamorphic limestone (marble). Four types of alterations (quartz-sericite, chlorite-quartz-sericite, chlorite-sericite and propilitic-silicification) have been detected in the study area at northern part of Taknar. The most abundance alteration in this area is quartz-sericite and chlorite-quartz-sericite. Chlorite, sericite and quartz are main products of alteration. The precense of secondary copper and iron minerals indicates that surface mineralization (in respect to topography) is situated at oxidant zone and main part of the body is located at depth.
