Abstract :

The Forumad 1:100000 geological map is located in the North-East of the Jadjarm 1:25000 geological sheet. This area is a part of the Sabzevar structural zone, situated between Semnan and Khorasan Provinces.The Stratigraphical study on the Late Creataceous shows a lot of pinkish cream limestones and dark grey to green tuffits which have different composition pyroclastic rocks in this time. The Paleontological study of specimens of this zone indicates the Coniacian - Late Campanian stages which have planktonic microfossils belonging to deep sea water. The Laramid orogenic movements as a compressional phase caused folding, tectonizing, and outcropping the area at the end of the Cretaceous and the beginning of the Cenozoic.
