Geochemistry, genesis, and gold potential in Kuh_e_zar prospecting area, Torbate Heydariyeh

Abstract :
Kuh-e-zar gold prospecting area is situated about 41 km. west of Torbate-Heydariyeh and 5km.south of Fadiheh village.
Rhyolitic and andesitic pyroclastic and lava flows (Eocene) are widespread all over in the area. Granite, quartzmonzonite and granodiorite bodies are exposed in the northern part of the area.
Mineralization is being controlled by the faults and faults intersections. Faults are trending N70 ° E to NS and the second series N40 0
W. They are very steep(70 ° -90 ° ) and the width of mineralized faults are varies between 0.5 to 40 m. Twelve mineralized faults are recognized.
Two types of mineralization are present:
1) Quartz, hematite (specularite), and gold. More than %90 of the area are of this type.
2) Quartz, chalcopyrite, hematite, and gold. This type is present near or within the intrusive rocks.
Chioritization and silicificatiori are abundant, but, minor potassic and argillic alteration are present, as well. The average gold grade is between 3-6 ppm and ore reserve is estimated more than 5 million tons. Magmatic solution, rich in gold and some copper, but highly oxidizing and low in sulfur, are present. These are originated from the intrusive rocks, partly being exposed in the northern part that deposited gold and copper within the faults. This is due to drop of temperature and increasing oxygen fugacity.
