Abstract :
The studied area is located in north west of Mashad city, between Quchan and shirvan towns, in the central of kopet - dagh basin. Among of kopet - dagh stratigraphic unites , these formations are outcropped, follow as: Shunjeh, Tingan, Sarcheshmeh, Sanganeh, Aitamir and Abderaz.This area is folded by NE- SW stress trend and followed by thrust and strike slip faulting.This area is strongly affected by dextral strike slip faulting (for example Touranlu and Baghan- Garmab faults)
As morphotectonic this area is in Juvenial stage which directly related with structural features of folding and faulting. Envestigation of recent faults and uplifting evidences conclud that southern area is active.
After studing of evidences and analyses of structural and morphotectonic data, we obtain these conclusion:
Southern area which limited between thrust faults is uplifting at present.
