Abstract :
Today's, the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is a one of the important environmental problems. Management of these solid wastes, which mainly include residential wastes,. is so necessary. Mashhad as the secondcapiial city and also the most important pilgrim city ofiran includes a huge volume of MSW. in the past times, these MSW filled up depressions around the city which are now located inside the city Since 1970 MSW are transported to the landfill located in the vicinity of road of Mashhad_naishabour. In this paper, environmental problems of old and new landfills have been evaluated.
