Abstract :

Mining activities in Taknar polymetal mine caused a considerable amounts of mining wastes, especially at the vicinity of Tak I, II, III tunnels. The source of water contamination seems to be Tak III northern tunnel. Water contamination has influenced not only the surface water system, but also the ground water, as well as Qantas of downstream villages have been contaminated. Based on heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, As, Hg) acceptable standard limits in drinking water (WHO, EPA and ban national standards) also using the appropriate hydrochemistry diagrams, the related results have been proved.
