North East Management of Geological Survey has four staffs in palaeontology who are doing special research in ammonite, conodont, microfossil and macrofossil. Palaeontology section is always ready to help field geologists to determine collected samples and specimens for aging. Moreover they do individual or shared palaeontological projects. Service They are also ready to give consultation and organise training courses under special consideration.
Done projects:
1- Biostratigraphy and sedimentology of Kashaf Rud Formation in east and south east of Kopet Dagh Basin based on ammonite fauna.
2- The ammonites of Chaman bid Formation in the Kopet Dagh Basin.
3- Introduce the Ordovician-Silurian strata in south west Kashmar area.
4- The determination of Ordovician-Silurian border in Kashmar area.
5- Stratigraphy of Ordovician- Silurian Boshroyeh section based on isotopic data.
6- Biostratigraphy of Silurian deposits in Dahaneh Kalut (north of Tabas). 7- The conodonts biostratigraphy in Silurian beds of Dahaneh Kalut and Kashmar.
8- The biostratigraphy Kalat Formation in east of the Kopet Dagh.
9- The study of conodonts of 1:100000 scales Kashmar sheet.
10-The study of microfossils of 1:5000 scales Arghash,Khalilan, Hird and Deyhuk
11- The study of microfossils of Neyshabor, Sefid sang, Bargh Mich, Torghabeh, Aysk, Deyhuk, Soltan Abad, Shamkan and Kadkan maps in 1:100000 sacles.
12- The study of microfossils Bazangan, Ferdows, Gonabad, Bardascan, Chah Dashi-Mossavyeh, Radkan, Kakoli and Deh Salm maps in 1:100000 scales, which are under publishing.
