In petrography lab of North East Management all types of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks have been studied. Moreover petrographic studies of all maps that are provided and published by North East Management of Geological Survey of Iran have been done since 1991. The petrography lab has been busy in the following projects: Exploration of Arghash gold ore. General and comprehensive exploration of Shykh Ali copper ore. Mining exploration in south of Khorasan province.

 Service Consultation in different subjects of petrography, microscopic photography and training are also done in this lab.

Done projects Petrographic studies of Mashhad, Neyshabour, Sefid Sang, Kadkan, Shamkan, Torghabeh, Bargh Mich, Aisk, Dyhook, Soltanabad, Kashmar, Ferdows, and Gonabad maps in 1:100000 scale.

 Current projects Petrographic studies of Mosavyeh, Bardaskan, Chah Dashi, Deh Salm and Chader Melu maps in 1:100000 scales.
