Abstract :
In this article, stmtigraphy and paleogeography of members 5 of Chalus Formation has been studied. On the basis of stratigraphical position the member 5, is formed in the Middle- Upper Cenomanian time and consists of conglomerate and basic volcanic rocks with 500 m. thickness.
During the Cenn,nmuRn stage in the Chains area (Northern flanks of Central Alborz) deep sea sedimentation was broken by several volcanic activities. These Iransfonnatiom caused to rise of the sea floor and created the temporary islands. After a little time, these lands went under water and Cenomanian deep sea covered all the islands again.
