Abstract :
The middle portion of Member A of Geirud Formation has yielded three goniatltes, which could be related to the genera Sporadoceras and Platyclymania respectively. These genera confirm a Famennian age for the above- mentioned member. With regards to the previous discovery of these genera of gonlatltes in east Iran, it may be concluded that a similar paleoecological condition and marine communication existed both in east, as well as north Iran during this period of time.
