Writers : M. Talebian,M.poorkermani
Refference : Geosciences Scientific Quarterly Journal,No.:8,P.:24

Abstract :
The Zagros Mountains, forming ranges across SW of kan, constitute southern part of the Alpine - lUm&ayan orogenic belt in Iran.
This ranges here has NW- SE trend and has been divided by authors into several structural zones from SW to NE. The Mongasht Anticline as a past of simply folded belt (zone) is located in the middle of this ranges.
High rate of uplift , fast erossion, and alternative competent and Incompetent formations, provide long dipped surf aces,in which Massive Umestones underlain by incompetent formations, glided down by the action of gravity and producted Gravity Collapse Structures such as Slip Sheets, Roof and Walls, and Cascades.
At present, these structures can be seen all along the lenght of the northern limb of the Mongosht Anticline and on the banks of Karun River.
