Abstract :
Muteh Metamorphic- Magmatic belt, in the northwestern part of Sanandaj- Sirjan zone and the NE of Golpaygan, is composed of metamorphosed deformed sequences of sedimentary, volcanic (basic and acid) and volcano-sedimentary rocks. This belt consists of three separatable complexes including gneiss complex, green-schist complex and slate complex, from bottom to top, based on lithology, metamorphic facies and even the style of deformation.
Metamorphic complexes of Muteh region have undergone progressively three metamorphic-deformation events to amphibolite facies, therefore, represent a Poly-metamorphic character. The effects of Late Cimmerian and Laramian orogenies and their related acidic plutonism, have partly obliterated all the previous events in this region, but the Early Cimnierian orogenic phase is considered as the most important metamorphic deformation event in the southeastern part of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone by various geologists. Dating on various samples of the region indicates the granitoid bodies were emplaced of Middle to Late Cretaceous, Late Paleocene and Paleocene-Eocene.
