The Effects of meteorite impacts on earth

Writers : Saebfar, Vahid
Refference : Geosciences Scientific Quarterly Journal,No.:15-16,P.:60
Publishing Year : 1374

Abstract :
The increasing progress of astronomical studies and remote sensing science has shown that the Earth has been subjected to the effects and fall of meteorites just like the other plantes of solar system and because of the impact of these celestial bodies severe and extentsive changes has occurred (Like the extinction of Dinosaurs) in the evolution path of the Earth.
The geological studies which has been accomplished during the recent years in different parts of the Earth has shown that in many countries like Russia, America, Germany, Australia and Probably Iran there is traces of meteorite impact and because of these impacts small and large craters has come into existence. The fall of these celestial bodies has occurred in different geological eras and there is evidences right now that proves probably the boundry of geological eras and specially the boundry of Mesozoic and Cenozoic accords with the fall of meteorites and severe changes of climate due to this phenomenon.
Beside their ring structures, the characteristics which differentiates the impact craters from the Volcanic calderas are evidences such as the finding of unusual minerals, conical fractures of rocks and minerals, up rised rims of craters, the scatter of mysterious rocks like tektites and impactites around the craters, their location in different geological environments and etc., and with finding of one or few of these evidences around such structures their impact origin can be guessed.
