QuarterlyNeotectonical surveys of fan deposits. Applications from Kerman province Writers : Abbas Nezhad,Ahmad Refference : Geosciences Scientific Quarterly Journal,No.:25-26,P.:38 Publishing Year : 1376
Abstract : Many different parameters of alluvial fans may be used for assessing neotectonic activity of a region. Development of fan indicates neotectonic activity, however, sometimes their absence may be attributed to active tectonics as well. Many different features of alluvial fans; such as lateral changes of sediment thickness, fan activity, vertical changes of sedimentary calibre longitudinal slope of fan apexal incision, as well as apexal jutting, position of the major stream, characteristics of surficial valleys, internal structure of fan and existence or lack of burned pediments at the base of fan are related to neotectonic activity. These landforms are very important in neotectonic and seismicity studies.
