Abstract :
Paieoseismology and neotectonic studies at several localities along the San Andrsas fault system In the United States of America have provided several Indications to understanding th. pr.hlstorlc earthquakes. These Indications are as follows:
1) Sandblow and liquefactions, 2) fissures, 3) escarpment along the main fault, and 4) strike- slip movements. It Is suggested that, this study should be carried out in the Iranian p'ateau for some activ, faults, such
as the Nayband and the Oehshir which appears to be asiesmic at the present.
