Abstract :
Mishan Formation (Middle Miocene) is the middle part of Fans Group. To determine its facies, sedimentary environments and sequence stratigraphy, this formation has been studied in three sections in the west of Fans and one section in the east of Boushehr. Mishan Formation consists of carbonate and siliciclastic facies deposited in a Carbonate Rimmed Shelf. Two sequences with both type 1 and type 2 sequence boundaries were recognized within the deposits that are in accordance with a part of Tejas megasequence (TB2). The age of this formation is referred to the second epoch of Middle Miocene (Serravallian).
