Abstract :
Sungun deposit, situated on the north western part of the copper belt, consists ot three distinct mineralizations namely skarn, dissiminated and vein type. Supergene zone either does not exist, or if it does, secondary sulfide enrichment minenals are not developed. Geochemical investigations discovered the existence of two completely different mineralizations in the skarn and monzonite mass. Geophysical investigations showed that the maximum copper mineralization is situated on the minimum electrical conductivity haloe. Geological and mineralogical investigations on the bore holes, tunnels and rocks showed a distinct relationship between kaolinization- Mo at the bottom, silicification- Cu at the upper and senicitization chloritization- pyritization and small amount of Cu at the uppermost paris. Mineralogical investigations discovered that the Mo- extension haloe is due to the superposition of kaolinization- Mo mineralization on the preexisting Cu- Mo silicification geochemical haloes. Also that during pynitization a part of silica can be liberated from the primary migrate, which can migrate and dissolve the other ions to form Cu sulfide minerals.
