Abstract :
A sequence of paleozoic rocks exposed in south Kashmar Their ages range from Cambrian to Devonian in southeasi Kashmar.
Devonian rocks are subdivided into three distinct rock unite lower,
Part consists of sandstone , dolomite and gypsum (Padeh )formation middle part is about 102 m thick and consists of dolomitc, (Sibzar formation)
and upper part is about 195 m thick and consists of; limestone, dolomite and shale.
One _third of samples from upper part are bearing conodonts Determinated conodont elements belong to Icriodus Polygnathus and Ancyrodella, fifteen species and subspecies are identified: four species of Icriodus ,one spcies and two subspecies of Ancyrodella; and seven species and one subspecies of Polygnathus ;alsothree forms of Polygnathus are described as indeterminate
based on ages and ranges of identified species and subspecies, age of upper part of Devonian rocks ranges frorr varcus zone to lower gigas subzone (Givetian - Frasnian)ir southeast Kashmar (kuh_e_faghan). Thus, upper part equivalent of Bahram formation.microfacies studies show that Bahram formation was deposited in fore reef environments fore slope to open sea shelf),but its basal .part was depositec( in lagoon Paleoecological studies confirm microfacies studie5 and showthatdepth of depositional environment is shallow to depper shaitow. Finally, in the veiw of paleogeography ,this area rest at tropical low latitudes in Middle Devonian-Upper Devonian. (Givetian-Frasnian).
