Abstract :

A large number of exploratory methods are used in prospecting of mineral districts that includes hammer prospecting, remote sensing, geochemical and geophysical studies which have their own benefits at this stage. Undoubtedly, integration of the data and combining their results can lead to more comprehensive and useful results. Today, Geographic Information System (GIS) is helping us toward this important aim. Geoscientists can reach to new important results by using old geological data by applying GIS techniques. In this study, the exploration data of 1:100 000 Kadkan and Shamkan geological sheets were integrated to obtain, a unique conclusion towards detecting of expected economic mineralization. For this purpose, geological, remote sensing and drainage geochemical studies were performed separately in this area. Finally, the results of all these studies were combined in Geographical Information System, using fuzzy logic method. The final results have reported
as prognostic areas for further exploration studies. Moreover, for the first time in Iran the regional mineralization trends of elements have been studied using drainage geochemical sampling data. For this study the results of drainage geochemical sampling data were compared with lithological trends, tectonic features and alteration zones. The multivariate statistical analysis were used to analyze the drainage geochemical data, as these methods lead to more reliable results in comparison with the individual study of each variable.
