Abstract :
Torghabeh Gold deposit with cordination of N 59°,25' and E 36°,25', is located 8 km West of Mashhad in Khorasan province. This area is part of collision zone formed .during Late Paleozoic time due to collision between Iranian plate and Turan Plate Generaly the studied area consists of regional metamorphic, igneous and contact metamorphic rocks. Tonalite (Early Mesozoic age) intruded low grade regiona metamorphosed rocks of Late Paleozoic and different types of schists were formed around the contact. Sheared Zones is made up of 4 paralleled band and with trend of NW-SE and cut all of the exposed rocks, therefore mineralization is younger that these rocks. The main host rocks is composed of Schist and Protomylonite that are brittle and ductile. Gold mineralization was associated with Silica rich fluid that has temperature about 350 °C . Main minerals are quartz, pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotitc and gold which are found mainly as disseminated. The width of mineralization in between 0.4 to 3 meter. The main alterations zone are : silicification, propylitic and small amount of sericitic and argillic. Gold grade varies between 0.5 to 56 ppm and in average is less than 5 ppm. The elemental content of Ag, Bi, Cu, Sb, Sn, Pb, Zr ,and W are low.
Gold is the only economical metal in this deposit - Based grade of Au & Ag, this deposit is considered as orogenic gold deposit.
