Abstract :

The Sangan Iron Mine is located 290 km south cast of Mashhad about 18 km from Sangan village. The Sangan area is part of central Iran and consists of different igneous plutonic and volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks Alteration which has، occurred in igneous rocks are propylitic, chioritic, argillic and silisic. In the skarn skarnification is the main alteration. Both advanced retrograde and late alteration areseen in this region . The metallic ores are Magnetite, Hematite, Pyrite, Pyrrhotite Chalcopyrite and Covellite. These minerals seems to be formed in differeni generations. Geophysical studies showed that, because of the active tectonic and rock mixing, the gravimetry is not that much reliable in this area while the magnetometry is very suitable. Radiometric studies showed that there is no Uranium in thc mineralization zones but there is some in granitoids. Geochemical researches show that there is a low amount of Gold (below 35 ppb) in North C body and in the Baghak area. This study has proved that there is a linear relationship between Au and S. and also between As and Bi. Geochemical researches have showed that Gold is no paragenese with sulfide minerals (a.g. Chalcopyrite) which contain Copper. Satellit data shows that there is a relationship between the faults and the mineralization. The main fault-trend is east-west the same as the mineralization trend. The fluid conditior
and its changes during mineralization stages in the North C body and in the Baghak area anomalies can be determined by activity-activity diagrams. Log ehanges iron differs from -10.5 to -14. There are very good similarities-
40 to -32 while Log as cteristics of Sangan deposit and other Fe oxide type deposits. So that the Sangan Mine might be a member of Fe between the char oxide type .The reason is because it has a- one on low amount of apatite content and Gold and U are absent from the mineralizat Therefore the Sangan Iron Mine is a new type of hydrothermal Fe oxide deposit with no gold. U, R EE and apatite.
