Abstract :

The investigated area is situated in Koppeh - Dagh? basin in Northeast Iran. The most complet sediments of Iran exposed in this region, specially in Koppeh-dagh
youngest formation in this basin is kalat fm.

Five sections from Kalat fm. in Koppeh - Dagh basin were sampled for easteri
biostratigraphical studies , recognition of facies and sedimentological purposes
north latitude and 59.. The studied area is bounded by 36,10, 17 and 37.13,54 The general trend of sampled section and the thickness of kalat fm. decreases to NW.
04,18 and 60,54,57 east fossils were recognised on the base of thin sect i n studies is NW-SE which indicate Maastrichtian age for Kalat fm -

Siderolites calcitrapoiides, Orbitoides media, Orbitoides apiculata, Fissoelphidium operculiferunna cosdeni,Lffitteina mengaudi, Lepidoritoides socialis, Sulcopercolina cosdeni,Sulcopercolina globosa,
Hellenocyclina beotica, Dorothia oxycona
