Abstract :

The stutdied area is located in the north east of Iran, in Kope dagh, and in the west of sarakhs, about 25km far from the Shorlogh village It is the first time that the named area was. studied regarding the calcareotus nannofossil and examined systematically ,This formation, regarding the sedimentary rocks, has been formed of marl It must be meantioned that this formation is of much importance economically and the attention sandy limestone of many researchers has been attracted to .its gas deposites Sampling from this formation, due to the lack of limey shale, also its special lithology enough lamination and morphology, has been with a lot of problems The main purpose of this research is to establish biostratigraphic zonations and correlate them with the Universally accepted standard Twenty nine samples were collected from Khangiran section. Calcareou nannofossils were studied with light and electronic microscopes after particular processes..biozones
Eleien families, twenty_one Genera and fifty one nannofossils invistigated species of calcareous Nine biozones were determined based on the first occurrence and fossils assemblage in Khangiran section. These assemblages from base to top are
NP13, NP] 4, NP15, NPI 7, NP] 8, NFl 9, NP2O, NF2J, NP22, NP23 ) ,NP24 (Martini1971)
The age of late early Eocene to late Oligocene is .section suggested for Khangiran.
