Abstract :

The Studied area for this thesis is the metamorphic complex of Soltanabad situated between Sabzevar and Neishabour, two cities of Khorasan province.
In fact, the mentioned metamorphic complex is the basic metamorphism of Ophiolite melange of Sabzevar which is in the form of a strip with approximatly 20 Kilometers length and 3 Kilometers width at the northern east of Sabzevar Ophiolite melange complex.
The main part of protolith of metamorphic complex is consisted of Mafic and Ultramafic rocks.
The complex of research has passed several metamorphic phases which they are orderly from old to new as follow:
1) Altration: this metamorphism in the ophiolite melange complex is an usual and common process which has been exixted befor regional metamorphism.
2) Phase M1: this phase which is the first stage of regional. Metamorphism is accompaied with schistosity and orientation of minerals:
muscovite, phengite, chlorite, glaucophane, actinolite, termolite.this is a dynamic metamorphism.
3) Phase M2: this phase which is known by epidotization and zeositation lacks schistosity. epidote and zeosite minerals cut the schistosity of phase M1.
4) Phase M3: this phase is known by the groth of albite porphyroblasts so as albite porphvroblast incorporation the pre-existed minerals a as the texture of poikiloblastic.
5) Phase M4: this phase is a contact metamorphism one arid belong to plutonic masses and garnet, alkali feldspar; hornbland and cordierite minerals have been existed in this phase.
6) Phase M5: this phase has been existed after platonic masses and phase M4 in to the area and it has caused metamorphism of mafic veins existing between granites and hoste-granites.
Considering microscopic and field examples the tectonic setting the zone is situatated in a subduction zone and the direction of subduction is from southern west to northern east.
